SE Portland restaurants that are TRULY KID-FRIENDLY!
Kids are undoubtedly welcomed at these establishments, not just tolerated. Evidenced by menu, play areas, atmosphere, table activities (coloring), etc.
Dick’s Primal Burger. Counter ordering (saves time), toys for the kids to play with, tasty burgers and a large kids menu. 4905 SE Woodstock Blvd.
Grand Central in Sellwood. Soup, sandwiches, and pastries…and a small kid area in the back with a kid-sized table and chairs, bins of toys and a chalkboard. 7987 SE 13th Ave.
Hopworks Urban Brewery. Known familiarly as HUB, this go-to joint has multiple play spaces, a solid kids menu, and great beer for the parents. 2944 SE Powell Blvd.
Jam on Hawthorne. This spot is always crowded for weekend brunch, and for good reason. There’s a great play space, and even better lemon ricotta pancakes. 2239 SE Hawthorne Blvd
Know Thy Food. Formerly Warehouse Café, you’ll find a good kids menu, play space, and often kid-friendly entertainment while you eat. 3434 SE Milwaukie Ave.
Laughing Planet. Another counter restaurant (less wait time is always a good thing!). Plus the food you get is healthy, abundant, and not too pricey. The kids will love playing with the large array of plastic dinos while they wait. 4110 SE Woodstock Ave.
Laurelwood Pub. They’ve got a small play space, and a well-rounded kids menu. They also have crayons while you wait. 6716 SE Milwaukie Ave.
Nayar Taqueria. The owner always makes a point of talking to the kids and making everyone feel welcome. There’s lots of outdoor seating for those warm summer days, and the food is great too. 5919 SE Foster Road
Que Pasa Cantina. This kid-friendly spot is a great choice for outdoor eating. Their outdoor seating area is enclosed and has heat lamps—perfect for Portland. They also have a great happy hour and lots of coloring books for kids. 1408 SE 12th Ave.
Mio Sushi. You’ll find quick service and a nice kids menu (California roll, teriyaki chicken, edamame) as well as crayons and coloring sheets. 1710 SE Tacoma Street.
Pacific Pie Co. While you wait for your pie, kids can color with crayons and coloring sheets available onsite. 1520 SE 7th Ave.
Papaccino’s. There’s a semi-enclosed play area in the back with trains and lots of other toys. Plus kids will go crazy for the cereal bar. 4411 SE Woodstock Blvd.
Pizza Roma. For an old school slice, head to Roma’s in Woodstock. They’ve got toy bins, massive slices, and a great vibe.. 4715 SE Woodstock Blvd.
Por Que No. Por Que No has a super-affordable kids menu (nothing is more than $2.50), and sidewalk chalk for the kids. 4635 SE Hawthorne Blvd.
